Jacob Bethell scored a brutal century against South Africa in the final ODI at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. England were 2-0 down in the series and faced a whitewash threat, but Bethell ensured that the hosts didn’t go down without giving a fight. He blasted a magnificent 110 in 82 balls, including 13 fours and three sixes, to put England in a very strong position in the third ODI.

Bethell is seen as the future of England cricket, and has already played 15 ODIs, 13 T20Is, and four Tests. This was his maiden century across formats, but rest assured that many more are on the way, given the talent he possesses.
