If you were a NFL bettor wagering on an over in one of Sunday’s Week 1 games, chances are very high that you didn’t cash that ticket.

That’s because an astonishing 11 of 12 games stayed under the betting total on Sunday, including a 14-9 Los Angeles Rams win over the Houston Texans. Eight games didn’t finish with 40 combined points scored.

“Yeah, that’s really helped, not that many Same-Game Parlays will hit with that” Christian Cipollini, told Yahoo Sports in a text message Sunday night. “The highest-scoring game was the one with the lowest total.”

Indeed, the game with the lowest total on the board — 37.5 in the Pittsburgh Steelers-New York Jets game — flew over the total, as the Steelers won 34-32. It also happened to be the most-bet total in terms of total wagers at BetMGM, and 92% of the total dollars wagered were on the under.

One bettor at BetMGM wagered $150,000 on the Jaguars-Panthers under 46 and cashed that ticket, as Jacksonville defeated Carolina 26-10.

The Philadelphia Eagles-Dallas Cowboys game stayed under the total of 47.5 in Thursday night’s opener, while the Kansas City Chiefs‘ 27-21 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers snuck over the total of 46.5 on Friday night.

Several Vegas oddsmakers told Yahoo Sports that the unders cashing at such a clip helped their overall day, but favorites winning 11 of 12 games didn’t help either.

Unders are now a remarkable 12-2 in Week 1, pending the result of the Bills-Ravens game on Sunday night and Vikings-Bears on Monday Night Football.
