Official team lists, updates and injury news for Week 1 of the 2025 NRL Telstra Premiership Finals.
NRL Team Lists: Finals Week 1
Storm v Bulldogs, Friday 7.50pm at AAMI Park
Storm: Tyran Wishart takes over at halfback from Jahrome Hughes (arm) while Nick Meaney is the new fullback with Ryan Papenhuyzen (concussion) sitting out a week. Joe Chan has been named at centre for the time being but Jack Howarth (groin) is listed among the reserves and could be called up closer to game day. Captain Harry Grant is back from suspension so Bronson Garlick goes back to the bench. Blues prop Stefano Utoikamanu returns after being rested in Round 27 so Tui Kamikamica reverts to the bench to fill the hole left by Nelson Asofa-Solomona (suspended).Â
Bulldogs: A reshuffled backline sees Enari Tuala shift to centre and Blake Wilson and Jethro Rinakama claim the wing spots with Marcelo Montoya (ankle) and Bronson Xerri (concussion) sidelined. Star centre Jacob Kiraz has been named on the extended bench as he looks to return from an ankle injury suffered in Round 26 against the Panthers.
Warriors v Panthers, Saturday 4.05pm (EST), 6.05pm (local time) at Go Media Stadium
Warriors: The versatile Kurt Capewell shifts from back row to centre to replace Rocco Berry (shoulder). Young gun Leka Halasima moves into the starting side in the back row. Hooker Wayde Egan (hip) and prop Jackson Ford (suspension) are both back for the sudden-death showdown so Sam Healey drops to the reserves and Tanner Stowers-Smith to the bench.Â
Panthers: Brian To’o and Liam Martin are back on deck after being given an extended break to get over niggling injuries but hooker Mitch Kenny will miss the game. Luke Sommerton takes over in the No.9. Paul Alamoti retains his place on the wing with Thomas Jenkins dropping to 18th man. Luke Garner slides back to the bench to accommodate Martin’s return. Daine Laurie drops off the bench.
Sharks v Roosters, Saturday 7.50pm at Sharks Stadium
Sharks: Five-eighth Braydon Trindall is back after missing Round 27 with an ankle injury so Daniel Atkinson goes to 18th man. Back-rower Briton Nikora is listed among the reserves having served a three-game ban suspension and will most likely come into the team closer to game day.
Roosters: Coach Trent Robinson goes with the same 17 that got the job done in style against the Rabbitohs in Round 27. Sandon Smith and Salesi Foketi are among the reserves and Ethan King is the 18th man as he has been on 15 previous occasions this season.
Raiders v Broncos, Sunday 4.05pm at GIO Stadium
Raiders: Centre Seb Kris is back on deck after missing the Round 26 win over the Tigers that clinched the minor premiership so Simi Sasagi returns to the bench and Noah Martin makes way. Veteran prop Josh Papalii has been named to play despite suffering an ankle injury at training last Friday. Englishman Matty Nicholson is listed as 18th man having made a successful return through NSW Cup from a syndesmosis injury and fractured fibula suffered in May.
Broncos: Skipper Adam Reynolds (hamstring) remains sidelined so Ben Hunt and Billy Walters again call the shots in the halves. Centre Gehamat Shibasaki has been recalled after he was stood down last week for breaching team standards so Deine Mariner goes to the wing and Jesse Arthars drops to 18th man. Back-rower Jack Gosiewski is listed among the reserves as he looks to return from a collarbone injury.
