WARRENSBURG, Mo. – SWOSU Men’s Golf opened the fall season at “The Mule,” hosted by Central Missouri, and finished tied for fifth place in the 20-team tournament. Ben Jackson led the way with a T-12 individual finish.

Central Oklahoma won the tournament by 14 strokes and was the only team to finish under par across the three rounds. Host Central Missouri took second place, while Arkansas-Fort Smith climbed nine spots in the final round with a team score of two-under par to secure third.

After the opening day, which featured 36 holes, the Dawgs sat in third place. However, a costly +23 in round three dropped them into a tie for fifth.

Jackson, a freshman from Brisbane, Australia, was the top Bulldog in his first collegiate tournament. He shot +4 overall, opening with a 70 before carding his best round in the afternoon session with a three-under 67 that included four birdies and an eagle. He closed with a 77 to wrap up his debut performance.

Conrado Diaz Ermacora started with an even-par round before posting scores of 71 and 76 to close out the 54 holes. His opening round featured four birdies, though a triple bogey kept him from finishing under par. He ended on a strong note in the final round by birdieing two of his last four holes.

Ryan Carlisle was the biggest mover on the final day, improving his score each round. After an opening 77 (+7), he settled in with scores of 72 and 71, jumping 17 spots in the final round to finish T-33.

The Dawgs’ lineup was rounded out by Jack Phillips (70-73-80) and Casper Graf (76-77-79). Phillips tallied six birdies on day one but couldn’t find his rhythm in round three, while Graf struggled to find consistency, carding just five birdies compared to 20 bogeys or worse.

The Bulldogs return to action next week in Tulsa at the NSU Men’s Classic, set for September 15-16 at Page Belcher Golf Course (Stone Creek).
