It’s been almost two years since Glen Powell and Gigi Paris parted ways.
The pair were together for three years before Powell was cast in the 2023 rom-com Anyone But You, in which his chemistry with co-star Sydney Sweeney seemed to become too much for his relationship to handle.
Paris has shared her side of the story, but Powell has been silent on the topic for the past two years, until now.

The Top Gun: Maverick star has finally broken his silence on the separation in a new interview with GQ, telling the publication that he “will always have nothing but love for her and respect for her”.
“Everybody’s always going to have their own narrative on things and all that. And she’s welcome to it.
“Relationships are really hard,” he added, reportedly then gesturing to the breakfast food sat in front of him and the interviewer. “And when two people break up, they each go to their own brunch and they will each tell their own narrative.”
When Paris told her side of the narrative a few months ago, Powell didn’t come out of the story looking so shiny.
Both Powell and Sweeney have confirmed that they played into the rumours of a relationship for publicity, with Paris explaining that her partner had simply told her “This is what I have to do for my job”.

Appearing on an episode of the Too Much podcast, Paris never directly named Powell or Sweeney, but it was clear who she was referencing.
“I had two options, I could either pretend like I was going along with everything and have everyone wonder, ‘Are they hooking up? Are they not hooking up? Is she OK with this?” she said.

“Or, [I could] stand up for myself and say, ‘No I’m actually not OK with this. And I’m walking away’, so that’s what I decided to do.”
Paris said that the moment she knew she had to end things was when she was preparing to fly to Australia – where Powell and Sweeney were on set of Anyone But You – to visit her partner.

She had organised a work visa and employment for herself while she was here, and then she received a phone call.
“He called and said, ‘The producers and I have discussed and I think it’s best that you don’t come to visit’,” she recalled.
“That’s when I hung up and I was like, ‘This motherf—er is done to me’.”
