FARMVILLE, Va. – The regular season is set for Longwood men’s basketball, as the Big South Conference released the full conference schedule today.

The Lancers will face a 16-game Big South gauntlet, as the team chases its third conference title in five seasons, that features home-and-home matchups with every league team. It comes on the heels of a challenging non-conference slate that features marquee matchups against James Madison, Pitt, Wake Forest and Columbia, among others.

Single game tickets go on sale October 15 at www.longwoodlancers.com/tickets.

The schedule, which opens on December 31 when the men host Winthrop, runs through the final Saturday in February to set the stage for the magic of March in the Big South Tournament March 4-8.

Longwood faces a challenging stretch to begin Big South play thanks to a trio of games that represent the top three teams in the league from a season ago: Winthrop (Dec. 31), at High Point (Jan. 3) and at UNC Asheville (Jan. 7).

The Lancers do not have a homestand longer than two games, which happens twice. The first instance occurs when the team hosts Gardner-Webb (Jan. 21) and Charleston Southern (Jan. 24), and the second takes place in February with home dates against UNC Asheville (Feb. 12) and USC Upstate (Feb. 14).

The season finale comes against Commonwealth rival Radford (Feb. 28) prior to the conference tournament the following week.
