Casper Ruud is going to be a dad!

The tennis star, 26, is expecting a baby girl with his fiancée Maria Galligani, announcing the happy news on Instagram. In the first black-and-white snap, Ruud wrapped one arm around his fiancée’s shoulders and placed the other on her belly, as they smiled with their dog.

In the second picture, their dog can be seen lying on top of the sonogram with two small pink booties next to him.

“The team is growing❤️ see you next year babygirl👼🏼” the expectant dad wrote in the caption.

The high-ranking player, and one of the stars of Netflix’s tennis documentary Break Point, announced on Instagram in November 2024 that he and Galligani are headed for the altar. Ruud and Galligani have been dating since 2018.

He shared a sweet Instagram post of three photos showing the couple embracing on a beach with the ocean behind them to confirm the news.

One shot showed the pair looking lovingly into one another’s eyes, with Galligani placing her hand on her husband-to-be’s chest as he beamed proudly while she showed off her diamond ring.

The sports star shared another full-length shot of the couple — who currently reside in Oslo — with their arms around each other on the same white sands, while a third closer-up image showed the couple smiling and rubbing noses.

“Can’t wait to marry you💍🤍,” Ruud captioned the post.

While speaking to We Are Tennis in an interview last year, Ruud discussed his relationship with Galligani, who regularly supports him at tennis tournaments, saying she decides to keep their romance fairly low-key.

“I mean, it’s her choice. Obviously, we met before I got to the level I was at now, so things have changed for her, as well, and it hasn’t always been easy,” he said.

“There are more things in my life that I have to take care of now than when we met. So when you’re together with or a girlfriend or partner or fiancée, wife of an athlete, you have to be prioritized No. 3, 4, 5, even some days, because there are many other things that I have to do before,” Ruud continued.

“It’s tennis, it’s treatment, it’s media, it’s maybe meeting a sponsor. It’s a lot of things before you have time for maybe your partner,” he went on, praising his other half for being “very patient and great with these things.”

“On the social media side … she doesn’t want it. She wants to be her own, in control of her own kind of life and especially personal life. I’m happy that she’s found that way,” he added.
