The Australian wool market has opened a calendar year with seven straight positive selling series for the first time since 1979, with the Eastern Market Indicator adding 30 cents overall in Week 10 to close at 1,291c/kg.
This is also the longest run of weekly rises since 2019.
All sectors recorded healthy gains from the outset, reflected in the EMI adding 17 cents for the day (the largest daily rise since March).
