A snapshot from the set of Spider-Man: Brand New Day has raised some questions about Zendaya’s hair.In the photo, the actress’s head is completely covered by her hoodie. Fans suspect that a major hair transformation could be hiding underneath. The actress frequently changes up her hair and has dyed it red and blonde in the past.
Amid preparations for the release of yet another Spider-Man movie, eagle-eyed fans have turned their attention to one element of the film in particular: Zendaya’s hair. On Thursday, September 11, the Dune actress was photographed on set with her head completely covered by a black hoodie, thus immediately setting off alarm bells. Could a major hair transformation be hiding underneath? Only time (and perhaps Zendaya herself) will tell.
Zendaya posed alongside her co-star and fiancé Tom Holland, who plays Peter Parker in the Marvel franchise. The couple’s Spider-Man love story began with a meet-cute on set in 2016. Holland got down on one knee in early 2025.
At the time, a source told People that the actor had been wanting to propose “for a while now.”
“He’s always been crazy about her,” the insider said. “He always knew she was the one. They have something very special.”

As for Zendaya’s hair? If the Challengers star is poised to reveal a new hairstyle, it wouldn’t be the first time she did so in the context of Spider-Man. On the contrary, Zendaya dyed her hair red during the press tour for Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019. She also went blonde in 2024.
“Choosing a hair look for Zendaya is always a collaborative decision,” hairstylist Antoinette Hill once told InStyle. “Her wardrobe stylist Law, Z, and myself come up with hairstyles that will complement the overall look.”

Zendaya’s more recent hair transformations have been equally dramatic. Earlier this year, she sported a retro-inspired pixie cut for a campaign with the Swiss running brand On. One month later, the Euphoria actress once again switched it up with a bouncy blowout and bangs for a Louis Vuitton campaign celebrating the brand’s third and final Takashi Murakami re-edition drop.
