EXCLUSIVE: Every week, host Scott Cam dishes out the judges’ feedback on The Block, but it seems he has some of his own.
After all, he’s never been one to shy away from what he really thinks of the houses during his weekly walkarounds.
In the exclusive video above, the host spilled on the design trends he’d definitely steer away from. Spoiler: “There’s quiet a few of them!”
After hosting 19 seasons of the hit reno show, and being a seasoned renovater himself, Scotty has seen design trends come and go.

But there’s one he admitted he “doesn’t really like” and this year’s Blockheads have already done it twice on the show.
“Colour drenching!” Scott revealed. “The shelving, the doors, the skirting, ceilling, walls everything is all the one colour.”
In Week 3, Emma and Ben delivered a showstopping colour-drenched bathroom which certainly wowed the experts.

“It’s been used on The Block here quite successfully, it looks good,” Scott acknowledged. “But I don’t know whether that one will last.”
Which is exactly what judge Marty Fox thought when House 4 delivered a colour drenched rumpus room in Week 6.

”It’s so on trend that I think it will be out of trend as quickly as it’s come in,” critiqued Marty at the time.

But as you can see in the video above, it’s a trend that has left the judges – and now Scotty – divided!
