PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women’s tennis team opened its season this weekend in the Tribe Invitational at William and Mary.  

 

The two-day event kicked off Saturday morning at 9 a.m. and lasted til Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. 

 

The Quakers competed against William and Mary, Richmond, James Madison, University of South Florida and Eastern Carolina over the course of the weekend. 

 

 

Freshmen Joleen Saw and Varsha Vedula both recorded their first collegiate singles and doubles wins. Saw went 2-1 in her singles and doubles matches. 

 

The pairing of Vedula and Sarah Wang went 2-1 in doubles. 

 

Stojanovski was also selected for the All-American prequalifying Singles draw. 

 

Penn returns to action next weekend in the University of Delaware (UD) Invite which will last from Friday to Sunday.
