Zalgiris Kaunas has signed veteran German guard Maodo Lo to a one-year deal, strengthening its backcourt for the upcoming season.
The 32-year-old joins the Lithuanian champions with a strong EuroLeague resume and a FIBA World Cup gold medal won with Germany in 2023.
“I’m excited to join the Zalgiris organization,” said Lo. “The rich history and basketball tradition of this club have always stood out to me. Every time I played against Zalgiris, I could feel the incredible passion of its fans. I can’t wait to be part of that amazing atmosphere!”
Last season, Lo played for Paris Basketball, helping the team win the French league and cup titles. In EuroLeague play, he averaged 10 points, 2.1 assists, and shot nearly 58% on two-pointers.
“Maodo can both create for himself and get others involved,” said Zalgiris sporting director Gediminas Navickas. “He’s motivated, knows his role, and wants to win.”
Lo has played 249 EuroLeague games with teams like Brose Bamberg, Bayern Munich, ALBA Berlin, Milan, and Paris.
