Galaxy users, here’s the good news you’ve been waiting for. Samsung has officially wrapped up the One UI 8 Beta Program for the Galaxy S25 series, kicking off the stable release. The company has already started pushing out the stable version to beta testers in Korea. A global rollout could begin anytime now.
Galaxy S25 series starts getting stable One UI 8 update
The stable One UI 8 build for Korean Galaxy S25 users carries version number BYI3. It delivers the final polished version of Samsung’s Android 16 update. The OTA (over the air) package weighs 555MB for the Galaxy S25 Ultra on Beta 6. The update for non-beta users would be much larger, likely weighing over 3GB.
This is the first of the seven major Android OS/One UI updates for the Galaxy S25 series. Alongside the regular flagship trio that debuted in January, the S25 Edge (launched in May) will also get the same software support. It wasn’t eligible for beta updates, but the stable version is expected to be available for the slim model at the same time as its siblings.
The Galaxy S25 FE, meanwhile, debuted earlier this month with One UI 8 onboard. More importantly, it is also eligible for seven years of updates, meaning the FE model will be updated to an additional One UI version than the S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge.
If you are using any of the latter four models, keep your eyes peeled. The big Android 16 update may arrive anytime. You can check for it by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Galaxy S25 phones support seamless updates, so you don’t have to sit out when the device installs the massive update. You only need to restart your phone after the background installation is completed.
