Free agent Ben Simmons has denied rumours he has retired as speculation about his NBA future continues to bubble away.
The Australian is one of the most notable names still on the free agency market, while he has reportedly received offers from two American teams during the off-season.
However, he reportedly rejected an offer from the New York Knicks, who can only muster a veteran minimum contract valued at AU$4.5 million given their salary cap situation. The Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings have also reportedly expressed interest in the 29-year-old.

Simmons has been plagued by injuries and mental health challenges over the last few years – including inactivity and back surgeries- meaning he is unlikely to command more than a minimum contract at the late stage in free agency. Meanwhile, his agent recently dropped him as a client, according to reports.
Earlier this month, the New York Post reported the three-time NBA All-Star was considering whether he wanted to continue playing in the NBA next season.
However, asked by on Instagram whether he has retired, Simmons responded: “No.”

Simmons, No. 1 overall pick by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2016, became a free agent at the end of last season after averaging 5.0 points and 4.7 rebounds per game on 52 per cent shooting from the field across 51 games for the Brooklyn Nets and LA Clippers.
