The German national team coach could not celebrate EuroBasket gold with his team and will spend fifteen days in hospital recovering

Álex Mumbrú did not travel with the rest of the German national team after winning the EuroBasket gold medal.
While the players and staff flew to Frankfurt to begin the celebrations, the Catalan coach went straight to Barcelona, where, according to Mundo Deportivo, he was rushed to hospital.
Born in Barcelona, Mumbrú made an almost superhuman effort to be on the bench throughout the tournament, a show of strength that surprised doctors but ultimately did not prevent him from now requiring a fifteen-day hospital stay to fully recover.
As reported by MD, once this recovery period is over, he will undergo surgery to have his gallbladder removed.
