Mining giant Fortescue is taking the fight against scam ads featuring its executive chairman Andrew Forrest into its own hands, using artificial intelligence to hunt down fake profiles on social media and complain until they are taken down.
Forrest has become the public face of the fight against scam ads, after the billionaire sued Meta in the United States for failing to stop ads featuring his likeness being used to promote investment scams that have swindled Australians out of their life savings.
