History created with Brimson claiming first Paul Broughton Medal

Titans stalwart AJ Brimson has claimed his first Paul Broughton Medal with the dynamo taking home Gold Coast’s top honour on Tuesday night.

Storming home in the count with a stellar finish to the year – claiming 16 of a possible 24 player points in the final eight games – the versatile star put behind him several injury-ravaged seasons to deliver his best to date with 23 appearances at fullback, five-eighth and centre.

Brimson (27 points) finished ahead of Tino Fa’asuamaleaui (20), Jayden Campbell (15) and Jaimin Jolliffe (15) on the final tally and is now firmly in the mix to be called up for England in the upcoming Ashes Test series after pledging his allegiance to the Three Lions earlier this year.

Elliston takes home second player of the year title

It comes as no surprise Jess Elliston earned her second player of the year title after her commanding performance up front – currently the top forward in the competition for run metres and post contact metres.

She edged out Georgia Hale and Shaylee Bent who finished closely behind the Origin and Jillaroos star in the women’s tally.

Powerful props claim players’ player honours

Seen as one of the most significant awards being recognised by their peers, Jaimin Jolliffe has earned wraps from his teammates after a massive season up front – the Paul Broughton Medal tally revealing the prop to rocket up the tally after a strong finish to the year.

Jess Ellliston was a standout among her NRLW side, earning the gong from her playing squad with the majority also believing she will claim her second player of the year honours.

9.15pm Excitement machines claim Members’ MVPs

The Titans’ Legion is the lifeblood of the Gold Coast’s fan base and this year, Jayden Campbell and Lily Kolc have been judged the Members’ Most Valuable Players for 2025.

Campbell excelled in his new No. 7 role, while the fan base loved what young gun Lily Kolc has offered in at dummy-half.

9.10pm: Rookie of the years rewarded

Impressing in his train-and-trial at the start of the season, Josh Patston got to live out his NRL dream in Round 15, and went on to become a regular first grader, earning the Titans men’s rookie of the year.

Ivana Lolesio was announced as the NRLW rookie of the year for her debut season, 12 months after being sidelined after rupturing her ACL.

9.00pm: Netball winners crowned

Both the Titans’ Sapphire and Ruby teams played finals yet again this season with the Ruby side coming within an inch of claiming their maiden title, but there were still many standout performers in the ever-growing program.

Josie Bingham was a standout in the Sapphire series – earning player of the year, which has also seen her earn an ANZ Premiership contract with the Southern Steel.

In the Ruby, Aaliyah Sheppard takes home the top gong for her side.

8.45pm: Departing players acknowledged

The room has thanked seven players who will depart the Titans at the end of the 2025 season with Jacob Alick-Wiencke, Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui, Ryan Foran, Ben Liyou, Sean Mullany, Harley Smith-Shields and Tom Weaver to finish their journey on the Gold Coast.

8.40pm: Ken Stephen finalist earns Preston

Former Paul Broughton Medallist and club icon Preston Campbell OAM was on hand to award the prestigious Preston Award, with it being no surprise it going to Kieran Foran, who is also a red-hot chance to win the Ken Stephen medal in his final season in the NRL.

The retiring legend also sat down with Vossy to reminisce on his 17 seasons in the top grade.

7.55pm: Effort players recognised

A new award in 2025; the Titans have recognised the players in both the NRL and NRLW squads who put it all on the line each and every week and show 100 percent effort.

This year’s winners are Beau Fermor (NRL) for countless try-saving tackles and plays, and Shaylee Bent (NRLW) for her relentlessness in both attack and defence.

7.45pm: Wellbeing & Education and Leagueability Awards

Titans NRLW flyer Georgia Grey has been acknowledged for her immense off-field achievements to her work and study, picking up this year’s wellbeing and education award.

Meanwhile, the Leagueability program continues to go from strength-to-strength which culminated in the first-ever inter-club clash between the Cowboys, Warriors and Titans in the final round of the season.

The program’s numbers have grown again in 2025, including the opportunity to train and play at Cbus Super Stadium.

Three players have been recognised for their incredible performance on and off the field, with William Forrest (Adaptive), William Weir (Inclusive) and Matthew Johnston (All Abilities) awarded player of the year honours for their respective competitions.

7.30pm: Titan OG honoured with incredible staff acknowledgement

Tony ‘Clacka’ McDonald has been a stalwart of the Titans since inception in 2007 as the club’s corporate sales manager and after an incredible season helping deliver Gold Coast’s hospitality, he’s been honoured with the Staff Excellence Award.

There’s never a dull day with Clacka who is full of character, energy and laughs while he works tirelessly to ensure the delivery of a premium game day experience at Cbus Super Stadium.

Voted by the staff at the club, McDonald received an overwhelming majority of support from his peers and is a well deserving winner of this year’s honour.

6.45pm: Welcome

NRL player Allan Fitzgibbon has begun the night on the didgeridoo alongside traditional land owner Uncle John Graham in a stirring Welcome to Country.
