The first week of finals has come and gone, and it’s an injured Broncos gun who shone bright in one of the most memorable match-ups in recent NRL history.
Billy Walters, playing at five-eighth while both Adam Reynolds and Ezra Mam are sidelined, leads the Westpac Red Zone MVP leaderboard for this week.
The 31-year-old assisted two tries and contributed to another in Brisbane’s 28-28 win over Canberra.
It has since emerged Walters has suffered an ACL injury, with the remainder of his season in doubt despite Michael Maguire’s outfit enjoying a week off after booking a preliminary finals appearance.
