After months of buffoonery and back-channelling, the race to replace Richard Goyder as chair of the AFL has taken a constructive turn.

The AFL Commission will start the interview process for the nomination committee’s three shortlisted candidates on Friday. For those not keeping score at home, they are ex-Western Bulldogs boss and class-action lawyer Peter Gordon, former Geelong president Craig Drummond and ex-Essendon director Peter Allen.
