Slower than a Manchester United holding midfielder – plans are coming together for a U23 team, but it’s taking a long time… Photo courtesy of the team.
We’re still waiting for official confirmation about the Ineos Grenadiers U23 team, and rider contracts remain delayed due to the squad’s cumbersome processes, but behind the scenes, the management is finalising the details, with the roster currently at 10 riders and plans being laid out for 2026.
According to our information, the senior management team at Ineos Grenadiers met with team owner Jim Ratcliffe last week. These meetings are quite regular and often include CEO John Allert and Performance Director Scott Drawer. As we’ve already reported, Geraint Thomas has also attended these meetings in the past. During these discussions, the management prepares and presents updates for Ratcliffe and the board.
