Running back matchups can make or break your week. Here’s who to lean on — and who to leave on the bench for NFL games being played Sept. 18-22.
Start: Isiah Pacheco, Chiefs at Giants
Pacheco’s steady role in the Chiefs’ offense makes him a strong play against a Giants defense that’s been gashed by opposing backs. He handles early-down work and contributes in the passing game. If Kansas City builds a lead, Pacheco could feast. He’s a safe RB2/flex with upside.
Other Locks:
Rhamondre Stevenson: Patriots vs. SteelersJordan Mason: Vikings vs. BengalsJavonte Williams: Cowboys vs. Bears
Avoid: Kyren Williams, Rams vs. Eagles
Williams is still the starter, but Blake Corum is cutting into his workload, especially in the red zone. Williams has been inefficient and now faces a tough Eagles front. Unless he scores, he’s likely to disappoint.
