The Cincinnati Bengals are off to a 2-0 start, but news that they’ll be without starting quarterback Joe Burrow rocked the organization this week. Now, Jake Browning will lead one of the NFL’s best offenses, and he’ll be tested early by a Vikings defense that has caused problems for young quarterbacks this season. Minnesota will be without starting QB J.J. McCarthy (ankle) as well, but is still favored by three points at home in the latest Week 3 NFL odds. The Week 3 NFL schedule also features several division rivalries, including Falcons vs. Panthers (+5.5), Colts vs. Titans (+4.5) and Broncos vs. Chargers (-3).

Week 3 NFL betting preview, picks
Minnesota Vikings (-3) vs. Cincinnati Bengals | 1 p.m. ET | Sunday, Sept. 21
Browning did manage to lead the Bengals to a come-from-behind win in relief of Burrow on Sunday, but he did throw three interceptions in the process. He’s now thrown 10 interceptions in just 275 career pass attempts and has also fumbled three times in 10 games. Meanwhile, the Vikings held the Bears to 17 points offensively in Week 1 and then held Michael Penix Jr. and the Falcons to six points total in Week 2, while forcing four turnovers. Minnesota will turn to Carson Wentz in this one with McCarthy nursing an ankle injury, but the veteran should be a steady presence. The model expects the Minnesota defense to do the heavy lifting in this one, predicting the Vikings cover in 53% of simulations.
Philadelphia Eagles (-3.5) vs. Los Angeles Rams | 1 p.m. ET | Sunday, Sept. 21
The defending Super Bowl champions haven’t won pretty, but they’re 2-0 entering another playoff rematch from a season ago. The Eagles beat the Rams in the divisional round 28-22, and Los Angeles was the only playoff opponent that Philadelphia didn’t beat by double-digits. However, it took a late Rams touchdown to make it a single-possession game, and the Eagles were utterly dominant on the ground. They rushed for 285 yards as a team, and Saquon Barkley rushed for 205 yards and two touchdowns after having already rushed for 255 yards and two scores against the Rams during the regular season. The model is projecting that Philadelphia covers in 65% of simulations.
Over 45 points: San Francisco 49ers vs. Arizona Cardinals | 4:25 p.m. ET | Sunday, Sept. 21
Brock Purdy missed last week with a toe injury, and George Kittle is on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, but the San Francisco offense still operated effectively in a 26-21 win over the Saints. Mac Jones threw for 279 yards and three touchdowns in relief of Purdy and looks comfortable in the offense if called upon again this week. Meanwhile, Arizona hasn’t looked great offensively through two games, but has still scored 47 points and gotten off to a 2-0 start. The Over has also hit in six of the last seven head-to-head matchups between these NFC West rivals. The model says the Over hits in 59% of simulations.
