Skincare brand La Roche-Posay will team up with Tyler ‘Ninja’ Bevins, along with a list of gaming superstars, for a major global 24-hour streaming event, known as Gaming for Cause. Ninja might be one of the most well-known names in the streaming industry, but he’s also a two-time melanoma survivor. The stream will aim to raise funds for skin cancer prevention activities across the world.

The stream will take place later tonight on the 20th of September, beginning at midnight AEST, and run right through Sunday. Skin cancer rates are rising globally, while studies have shown that less than one-third of Aussies apply sunscreen throughout the year. As a result, the stream will also look to widen and increase awareness for skin cancer causes, prevention, detection, and the importance of sunscreen and regular skin checks.

Multiple top Australian streamers will also join the cause, including Vindooly, a Melbourne-based YouTuber; Fasffy, a Team Liquid streamer and cosplay enthusiast; Jackson Field, with over 2 million YouTube subscribers; and BoaRoo, known for her ‘cosy’ community-focused streams on Twitch. Each streamer will also compete head-to-head in PEAK, a co-op climbing game, to raise further funds for the Melanoma Institute of Australia. While Ninja is kicking off the event at midnight, you can catch these Aussie streamers between 11 AM and 2 PM.

Alexandra Reni-Catherine, La Roche-Posay Global General Manager, commented on the news, stating, “We are incredibly proud to launch ‘Gaming for Cause’ and unite the power of gaming with our dermatological expertise. This event represents a bold step forward in our ‘Save Your Skin’ mission, allowing us to reach and educate millions about skin cancer prevention and detection. We anticipate that Gaming for Cause will not only raise crucial funds and awareness but also establish a new model for health education and charitable engagement within the gaming world”.
