Well, that’s exactly what McGregor did earlier this week in an attempt to save some face from his political flop. McGregor stated that it was “not an easy decision, but it is the right one at this moment in time.” He came to this conclusion after some “careful reflection” and consultation with his family.

Sonnen, who seems to make a ton of content by talking trash about McGregor, had a few issues with McGregor’s reasoning for removing himself from his dying presidential campaign. In fact, Sonnen claims that McGregor’s political run was never even real in the first place.

“When you’re blowing c—e, getting blown by s—ers, running in and out of court dates for this very thing, oh, by the way, tying a dumbbell to your hoo-ha, it’s a little hard to act like you’re the guy that consults with family,” said Sonnen earlier this week via YouTube (h/t Bloody Elbow).

“You’re very clearly the guy that does whatever he feels like. So, you know, this whole ‘talk to my family routine’…incredibly absurd.

“The most absurd thing was thinking that he owed an explanation,” he continued. “An explanation to who? The parliament never recognized you! There was no vote. There was no ballot.

“‘Conor McGregor has withdrawn his pending plans to be the president of Ireland.’ Well, there’s one problem with that, Conor — you were never running for president of Ireland! This wasn’t real. It wasn’t real.”
