Marc Marquez is currently on one of the greatest runs of form in MotoGP history and looks set to smash some records in 2025.

The Spaniard leads the way by 120 points over his rivals heading into the summer break, and has just won both the sprint and the Grand Prix at five consecutive events.

It’s clear by now that nobody can stop Marquez from dominating. He is simply way too quick on the GP25 and is too comfortable on his bike.

Teammate Francesco Bagnaia is way off the pace and Ducati can’t find answers. Aprilia and Marco Bezzecchi look set to come on strong in the second half of 2025, and could be the main protagonists.

An Aprilia chief sent Marquez a warning and believes that it is possible to beat him. They now have 11 races to prove that before the end of the season.

After perfectly managing the Czech Grand Prix sprint race, Marquez was hailed for his genius as his racing IQ continues to amaze people to this day. It’s part of why he’s such a strong rider.

Neil Hodgson is ‘struggling’ to watch Marc Marquez and cannot believe the transformation in his riding style since he left Honda.

He’s had to adapt to a completely new bike, but he has done so in rapid time. One year with Gresini helped him to learn about their systems before a natural progression to the factory Ducati team one year later.

Recent races have been an example of why he is a model champion. Two crashes at the German Grand Prix didn’t deter him from winning, nor did mixed conditions at the Czech Grand Prix.

Ducati sporting director Mauro Grassilli has revealed one thing Marquez says in their meetings that keeps the team on their toes, despite their dominance.

“Naturally, we are here to help him, but he is a professional with a lot of experience,” he told Marca.

“He himself told us in the morning: ‘Every race starts from scratch, which is not because he has won the previous one, is [he] the favourite in this one’. We have to give him the maximum so that in each race he can try to win.”

How Marc Marquez can break his own MotoGP record at the Austrian Grand Prix

Although the MotoGP sprint races aren’t held in the same accord as a Grand Prix, Marquez has technically seen the flag first in each of the last 10 races.

That’s a match for his incredible run in 2014, and he could beat it by winning the sprint at the upcoming Austrian Grand Prix.

And he’s done it all without having to push at 100% of his capacity. The summer break now offers a chance for reflection and recuperation, but that may not be what he wanted.

While on a hot streak, why would he want to stop? Taking advantage of this form is important, because as he is all too aware of, everything can change in an instant.
