FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Both the Purdue Fort Wayne men’s and women’s basketball teams hit the floor at the Gates Center Monday for their first practice of the season.
The men welcome 10 new players to the roster while the women look for newcomers and returners to step up following the loss of their entire starting lineup from last year.
Both head coaches Jon Coffman and Maria Marchesano have returned to lead their respective programs.
The men will look to bounce back from a disappointing finish to last season’s 19-13 effort, losing in the first round of the Horizon League Tournament, while the women will look to build off their best season in program history that finished in the Great 8 of the WNIT.
Both teams begin their seasons with an exhibition match at the Gates Center. The women will host Manchester on Oct. 23 while the men welcome Ball State on Oct. 27.
