The Panthers suffered a 5-3 loss last time out against the Nashville Predators. Mike Benning had two goals, and Brett Chroske added the third goal. Cooper Black stopped 11 of the 12 shots he faced, while Daniil Tarasov stopped 15 of the 18 shots he faced.

Carolina Hurricanes News & Notes: 

The Hurricanes lost their preseason opener 2-1 to the Tampa Bay Lightning. The lone goal was scored by Logan Stankoven. Cayden Primeau played the whole game, stopping 18 of the 20 shots he faced.
