Kim Kardashian just delivered a not-so-subtle dig at ex-husband Kanye West while gushing about her newfound confidence since their messy split.
In a newly released French Vogue cover story, per Page Six, the Skims mogul opened up about the “exhilarating” transformation she’s experienced since turning 40 in October 2020 — just months before filing for divorce from the 48-year-old rapper in February 2021.
“Before, I constantly needed to check with someone before making a decision,” Kardashian, now 44, confessed to the outlet. “Can you imagine? It’s crazy to rely so much on others’ opinions.”
Though she didn’t name West directly, fans know exactly who she’s talking about. During their nearly seven-year marriage, Kardashian repeatedly spoke about her then-husband’s controlling influence over her wardrobe choices.

“I always thought I had really good style — until I met my husband and he told me that I had the worst style,” she once admitted to W Magazine, even revealing that West made her cry by throwing out 250 pairs of her shoes.
That drama between the exes is taking a new shape — though fashion remains at the center of it. As Globe recently reported, a source revealed that West has been “ranting and raving” about Kardashian letting their 12-year-old daughter, North, wear provocative outfits and get risky piercings. The source added that he’s threatening to “raise hell with the lawyers” if it doesn’t stop.
But Kardashian is seemingly brushing off West’s threats. “Today, I know exactly what I want,” she declared to French Vogue.
