Zeljko Obradovic, head coach of Partizan, spoke to Part+ about the condition in which Jabari Parker arrived in Belgrade.
The former second overall pick in the NBA Draft is considered one of the biggest names in Serbian basketball in the 21st century.
His situation draws parallels to a few seasons ago, when Dante Exum also arrived with noticeable extra weight but went on to have one of the best seasons of his career, eventually returning to the NBA.
“Jabari Parker has huge ambition. No less do the other players. When I spoke with him, I told him that the goals are the highest, which is why we wanted to bring him in. That’s exactly what he is showing.
He is someone hungry for points, someone who attacks. He came in a bit problematic, not fully ready, but that’s okay. This will be worked on during the preparation period,” Zeljko Obradovic said.
