As the series is from Belly’s perspective, we hear how the summer house, and by extension Cousins, is a place of magic. It’s where she feels most at home, and where life is really lived. It’s hard to express, until you watch this show, just how much wonder and tenderness can be bestowed upon a place, so much so that you also feel attached, as a viewer. But when things kick off in season one, the purely platonic nature of their summers is left behind as both Conrad and Jeremiah start to act on their feelings for Belly, who has harboured a crush on the elder brother since she was 10.
