Prog metal titans Tool are headed back to Australia for the first time since 2020 as the exclusive headliners of Good Things festival in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

But what about fans outside the East Coast? Good news!

The renowned LA quartet have secured two indoor arena shows: Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Friday 28 November and Perth’s RAC Arena on Tuesday 2 December.

This marks Tool’s first WA performance since 2020, and the release of their comeback album Fear Inoculum. Meanwhile, South Australians have been waiting for a Tool concert since 2013!

One of the most critically acclaimed heavy acts of their generation, Tool’s devilishly complex rhythms, along with the surreal presence and powerful vocals of frontman Maynard James Keenan, has long made them a must-see live act.

Supporting Keenan’s commanding presence is the juggernaut grooves and hypnotic instrumental conjuring of guitarist Adam Jones, drummer Danny Carey and bassist Justin Chancellor, whose chemistry breeds cult-like adoration.

Recent overseas performances prove the foursome’s festival-topping power and renowned visuals are as potent as ever, with set-lists cherry-picking from across a discography that’s won four Grammys and shifted millions in sales.

From formative debut album Undertow and groundbreaking follow-up Ænima to the masterpiece Lateralus, 10,000 Days and aforementioned Fear Inoculum, their shapeshifting music’s dark complexities take on a new dimension on the live stage.

The upcoming sideshows are all ages (time to indoctrinate the kids!) and will see Tool joined by support act HEADSEND.

Playing grunge rock the way you remember it, the Byron Bay trio is led by singer-guitarist Rasmus King (who plays a young Daniel Johns in the ex-Silverchair frontman’s new short film What If The Future Never Happened?).
