Four contestants beat The Governess to take home a record prize.

Four contestants on The Chase won a record $141,000 yesterday.

Nurse Helen-Mary McMeekan, 65 (Adelaide, South Australia); dog rescuer Ben Quinn, 39 (Byron Bay, NSW); World War I aficionado Murray Fraser, 49 (Yattalunga, NSW); and paralegal Monica Lenaz, 24 (Sydney, NSW) defeated Anne Hegerty, aka The Governess.

The team entered the Final Chase with $41,000 before triggering the Mega Money Spinner at 13 steps. After racking up a total of 15 steps, the Spinner added $100,000 to their prize pool.

After four pushbacks in the final minute of the show, they walked away with $141,000, toppling the previous recor of $129,000.
