SALT LAKE CITY — The No. 7 Skyridge Falcons handed the No. 6 Lone Peak Knights their second straight loss in a double overtime thriller in week eight of 6A high school football on Thursday.
After a scoreless first quarter, Lone Peak dropped 10 points in the second and took that lead into halftime. Skyridge went on to outscore the Knights 24-14 in the second half, forcing overtime.
It took two overtime periods, but a Lincoln Tahi 16-yard touchdown rush eventually sealed the deal for Skyridge, 37-34.

No. 9 Mountain Ridge Sentinels 21 @ No. 5 Herriman Mustangs 8
The Mountain Ridge Sentinels fought through a weather delay to beat the Herriman Mustangs on the road in week eight. Although the delay definitely threw some things off, the fact remains that the Mountain Ridge defense held Herriman to one score. Quarterback Jaxon Hunt had one passing TD and one rushing TD in the win.
Riverton Silverwolves 28 @ No. 24 Westlake Thunder 31
The Westlake Thunder held on for a close win over the Riverton Silverwolves on Friday. Westlake quarterback Bosten Fountaine had three passing touchdowns, all of which went to Malik Sika. The Silverwolves had two defensive touchdowns and tried their hardest to come out on top, but they fell just short.
Bingham Miners 20 @ Copper Hills Grizzlies 3
The Bingham Miners held the Copper Hills Grizzlies to just one field goal in their week eight win on Friday. Owen Peterson and Teki Finau were the two touchdown scorers for the Miners against the Grizzlies.

No. 3 American Fork Cavemen 3 @ No. 12 Lehi Pioneers 26
The Lehi Pioneers stunned the American Fork Cavemen in week eight on Friday, holding them to single-digit points for the first time this season. Lehi running back Devaughn Eka was a one-man show in the win, rushing for over 100 yards and finishing with three touchdowns.
