Three titles from the Roger & Julie Corman library are getting the remake treatment.

Variety reports that Clever Creature has optioned remake rights to 1992’s The Haunting, 1989’s The Terror Within, and 2001’s Battle Queen 2020 through its sister company, Fast Motion Films.

The recently launched Toronto-based distribution outfit is planning both traditional 2D theatrical releases and immersive formats for each movie.

“These films embody the spirit of Roger and Julie Corman: daring, inventive, and unapologetically bold,” said Clever Creature principal Michaelangelo Masangkay. “We are not just remaking them – we’re reimagining them for an era where audiences crave both the communal experience of the theatre and the deeply personal immersion of new media platforms.”

The remakes will prioritize contemporary storytelling, elevated production values, and fresh creative voices while maintaining the raw energy of the originals. The immersive versions are being designed to transport audiences into gothic horror, post-apocalyptic survival, and futuristic rebellion settings.

The Haunting is a re-edit of 1963’s The Terror, directed by Corman and written by Leo Gordon (The Wasp Woman) and Jack Hill (Spider Baby).

In the Gothic horror film, a young French soldier cut off from his unit is beguiled by a mysterious woman, whom he learns is the wife of the local Baron — and that she seemingly died 20 years earlier.

The Terror Within was directed by Thierry Notz (Watchers II) and written by Thomas McKelvey Cleaver.

In the post-apocalyptic sci-fi horror film, when chemical warfare leaves the world barren and filled with mutated monsters, a band of survivors in an underground complex battle one of the creatures that was able to break in.

Battle Queen 2020 was directed by Daniel D’Or and written by Michael B. Druxman, Billy Hulkower, William D. Bostjancic, and Caron Nightingale.

In the post-apocalyptic sci-fi action film, after a civilization is all but wiped out by a comet, evil forces take advantage of the weak. A powerful woman fights back for the sake of the vulnerable.
