4.55PM – STARCEVICH TRADE AGREED IN THREE-TEAM DEAL, EAGLES MEET EX-CROW
West Coast’s trade for free agent defender Brandon Starcevich has reportedly been agreed to, per SEN’s Sam Edmund on Tuesday afternoon.
Foxsports.com.au understands the deal will see West Coast land Pick 12, Brisbane get Pick 16, and Fremantle split its top selection in order to satisfy Melbourne in a deal for Judd McVee.
The Dockers are getting involved because their first pick (12) is too much for McVee but the Demons won’t accept their second pick (33).
AFL Media reports they’ll get picks 19 and 23 in the deal, and will offer 23 for McVee.
Along with Starcevich, the Eagles are set to receive picks 33 and 52 as well.
They sought to trade for Starcevich instead of simply signing him due to it diluting their likely Pick 2 compensation for Oscar Allen’s departure.
But they’ve been forced to surrender their no.16 selection to Brisbane, also currently holding Picks 1 and 22 ahead of November’s draft.
Meanwhile, the Eagles have also met with recently delisted Adelaide midfielder Harry Schoenberg, according to The West.
The report states the club hosted Schoenberg at its Mineral Resources Park headquarters on Tuesday, with the Eagles “considering taking a punt” on the midfielder, along with Collingwood’s Fin Macrae.
3.50PM – CROWS SOUND OUT YOUNGSTER
Adelaide has “asked the question” of contracted Western Bulldogs midfielder Ryley Sanders.
Sanders, who hails from Tasmania and had previously shaped as a future target for the Devils, has emerged as “a possible target” for the Crows, per AFL Media’s Cal Twomey.
Twomey added on social media platform X: “Sanders’ brother Ollie plays for Norwood in the SANFL and Crows have always kept an eye on Ryley.
“Not expecting the Dogs let him go but there has been enquiries as they look to bolster their midfield.”
The 20-year-old Sanders has played 35 games — including 21 this season — for the Bulldogs since being drafted no.6 overall in 2023. He has a year to run on his deal.

2.40PM – SUN’S MOVE CEMENTED
Gold Coast’s deal to send Malcolm Rosas to Sydney has gone official at AFL House.
The Swans have landed Rosas and Pick 62 from the Suns in exchange for picks 51 and 69.
1.30PM – PIES TO MEET OLIVER IN SYDNEY
Collingwood list boss Justin Leppitsch has confirmed the club will meet with Melbourne midfielder Clayton Oliver while he’s in Sydney.
Oliver has also been in discussions with the Giants and is seemingly set to tour their facilities as he weighs up his next move after the Demons told him to explore his options.
“Obviously, it’s a position of need going forward. We’ve got an aging midfield that you guys keep telling us about consistently, and we know that too,” Leppitsch told AFL Trade Radio on Tuesday.
“We want to slowly develop that part of the field. We’ve still got some great young talent with Ned Long and obviously Nick Daicos … at a young age.
“You also see things Beau McCreery going through there late in the year, so to see the excitement of options we could put through there, we do have some good young talent.
“So, I guess it’s providing the support around that as our veterans retire.”
The 28-year-old Oliver is contracted for another five seasons on big money — prospectively making a trade complex — but it’s been reported the Dees are prepared to pay up to $700,000 of his annual salary in order to accommodate a beneficial deal.
12.40PM – FLANDERS DEAL STRUCK
A trade that will send Gold Coast’s Sam Flanders to St Kilda has reportedly been agreed on.
AFL Media’s Callum Twomey reports Flanders will move to the Saints in exchange for Pick 7 in a deal that could happen on Tuesday, if not, Wednesday.
It would give Gold Coast picks 6, 7, 14 and 17 and help the club’s bid for Christian Petracca.
12.30PM – ROGERS ANOTHER SUN ON ‘WATCH’
Another Sun on the move?
Jake Rogers is another Gold Coast player to “watch” this trade period.
Seven’s Xander McGuire revealed Rogers’ management has been assessing potential interest from clubs in the former Pick 14 academy product, who’s contracted for 2026.
That comes after Rogers has played only 18 games across hist first two seasons including missing time in 2025 due to injury.
11.15AM – REIDY JOINS BLUES IN FIRST OFFICIAL DEAL OF TRADE PERIOD
We have our first deal of the trade period!
Paperwork was lodged on Tuesday morning for Fremantle ruckman Liam Reidy’s trade to Carlton.
The Blues land Reidy and picks 53 and 71 in exchange for picks 50 and 68.
The Dockers ruckman has played only three AFL games across two seasons and helps replenish Carlton’s ruck stocks after losing Tom De Koning to St Kilda.

11AM – ‘TENSION’ POINT IN MARSHALL TALKS
The ‘tension’ point in trade talks for Rowan Marshall between Geelong and St Kilda surrounds whether the Cats should surrender a 2025 pick or future selection, according to Nine’s Tom Morris.
The Cats own Pick 18 in this year’s draft, which is set to move back a few spots.
But while the Saints would prefer a future pick, Geelong reportedly believes St Kilda actually needs to send out salary to help the club to land all its trade targets.
That’s despite Saints head of talent and acquisition Graeme ‘Gubby’ Allan declaring the club has “plenty of money” to “still go fishing” and “not a problem” fitting in all their salaries amid an aggressive $4.5 million recruiting drive.
“The Rowan Marshall discussions have progressed quite nicely so far,” Morris said on AFL Trade Radio.
“I use the word tension — not because there’s disagreements between the clubs — but the tension in this discussion is whether Geelong should give up a pick in this year’s draft or next year’s draft.
“St Kilda would like it to be next year’s draft.
“I think Geelong’s view is St Kilda probably needs to offload Marshall and maybe one other player because they’re pretty full on for money.
“I think Geelong actually believe the Saints don’t necessarily have all the money in the world and that trading Marshall would free up some space for them to bring these other players in.”

8.30AM – ROSAS SET TO JOIN SWANS
Malcolm Rosas Jnr. will join Sydney in one the first deals of the trade period expected on Tuesday morning.
Nine’s Tom Morris revealed the Swans are set to land Rosas and Pick 62 from Gold Coast in exchange for picks 51 and 69.
“A public holiday in Sydney yesterday the only reason it hasn’t been formalised already,” Morris wrote on X.
8.30AM – CROWS REPORTEDLY WON’T PURSUE OLIVER
Adelaide can be ruled out of the chase for Clayton Oliver, reports SEN’s Sam Edmund.
Crows list boss Justin Reid said on Monday the club would explore a move for Oliver, who they targeted two years ago, after missing out on Christian Petracca.
While GWS and Collingwood confirmed their interest in Oliver, Edmund reported on Tuesday morning “we can put a line through” Adelaide as a suitor for the midfielder.
“The Crows had been happy to take the phone calls and do their diligence, but they won’t be looking at Oliver after missing out on Christian Petracca,” Edmund wrote on X.

6AM – ‘AWKWARD’ REASON DONS HOLD THE CARDS AMID DEMANDS FOR MERRETT ‘GODFATHER’ OFFER
The Hawks have been warned they’ll need a massive offer to convince Essendon to trade captain Zach Merrett, with the “most awkward” part of the saga already dealt with.
Complicating matters as Sam Mitchell’s men eye a blockbuster trade for Merrett is their interest in 2026 free agent Zak Butters.
“Hawthorn wants to give something of quality for Zach Merrett, but they don’t want to give so much that they’ve got nothing left in regards to a Zak Butters deal,” Jon Ralph explained on Fox Footy’s Trading Day.
But his Herald Sun colleague Glenn McFarlane explained the Bombers hold the cards in this scenario.
Steele could be a ‘steal’ | 03:06
“They’ll push it to the nth degree, Essendon – they’ve got it in their mind that there’s gotta be some sort of godfather offer from Hawthorn to get this done,” he said.
“The most awkward part is over. It was incredibly awkward there, you had a best-and-fairest winner who’s not sitting at the leadership table with the rest of the group, he’s sitting with some mates.
“The speech didn’t go down well with a lot of people, a lot of past Essendon players were not that happy.
“So the awkward stuff has happened – if Hawthorn do not come with a compelling, capital-C compelling offer, they’ll hold firm because they know he’s such a pro he’ll get back (into regular training).”
He added: “If it gets done, this’ll be the last trade done”.

Meanwhile, Collingwood looms as the primary option for Clayton Oliver if he wants to remain in Melbourne.
The Demons midfielder met with GWS on Friday, snapped on a boat with Giants players and coaches, while AFL Media reports the Magpies are set to “step up their work” on the 28-year-old.
Oliver has had a difficult few seasons with off-field problems contributing to him being well below his All-Australian best, as seen earlier in the decade, with the Demons willing to pay a portion of his $1 million-plus salary over the next five years after trading him.
“We’re just going through our due diligence on that one. It obviously came through late last week, so we got the call from his management and thought we’d definitely do the work. It’s a position of need for us so on face value, it’s something to look into,” Pies list boss Justin Leppitsch said on Trade Radio.
Adelaide also holds some interest after missing out on Oliver’s teammate Christian Petracca.
“There is a bit more work that has to go into that, but I think the quality of players like that, or individuals, you certainly need to do your work. But there’s no guarantee what we will do there yet,” Crows list boss Justin Reid said on Monday.
