West Coast has been dealt a significant blow following Sunday’s match, with young midfielder Courtney Rowley sustaining a season-ending injury.

“Scans have confirmed that Courtney Rowley has sustained an ACL rupture, and she will now begin planning her recovery with the support of our medical team,” High Performance Manager Sam Batterton said.

“The surgeon will be consulted this week to determine her next steps.”

Defender Belinda Smith was also sidelined late in the game with hamstring tightness.

“Belinda’s scan revealed a hamstring strain,” Batterton said.

“We expect her to miss the next three to four weeks.”

In positive news, ruck Liz McGrath is on track to return this weekend after recovering from an ankle sprain sustained in the Fremantle clash.

“Liz has returned to full training and will look to complete the week with the main group,” Batterton said.

“If she gets through that, she’ll be available for selection against Adelaide.”
