Right, we’re going to spend some time this morning unpacking this deal which was reported last night and is set to be ratified by the AFL at some point today. It includes West Coast, Brisbane, Fremantle and Melbourne and will see a couple of players and a whole lot of picks move around.
This is how it looks, as per Cal Twomey (AFL.com.au), Ryan Daniels (Seven) and others:
West Coast IN: Brandon Starcevich, picks 12, 33, 52 OUT: Picks 16, 22, 23Fremantle IN: Judd McVee, picks 19, 46 OUT: Picks 12, 33, 44, 50
Brisbane IN: Picks 16, 22, 44, 50 OUT: Brandon Starcevich, Picks 19, 46, 52Melbourne IN: Pick 23 OUT: Judd McVee
We’ll go through the deal club by club through the morning, but what I would say is it looks about as fair and even a deal as you get. No obvious winners, no obvious losers, everyone gets a bit of what they want and can now push on with the rest of their dealings.

Welcome to day three of the AFL trade period
Good morning! Welcome back to our live blog of the AFL trade period as we keep you up to date with all of the moving and shaking, all the rumours and rumblings, all the opinions and hot takes as they come in.
And I reckon today is the day we start to see some dominoes fall. A four-club MEGADEAL (emphasis mine) looks set to go through this morning, which could set wheels in motion for a handful of other deals, and on and on it goes.
