Dallas, Texas — After winning the Bayou City Collegiate Classic last week, the Rice Men’s Golf team made history, earning co-champion honors at the Trinity Forest Invitational, winning consecutive tournaments for the first time in school history.

It fired an 11-under 277 to finish 32-under par to share the title with USC. Their score to par of -32 is a school record, and their 54-hole score of 832 tied the record.

Senior Lukas Boandl shot a 69 to finish at -15. He tied for the individual lead, but lost in a playoff on the second hole to Houston’s Hudson Weibel.

It’s his third career first-place finish, tying Mitchell Meissner for the most in school history.

“I’m over the moon excited for this team. They are making history every time they tee it up. We have a whole lot of golf left this season, so we’ll celebrate this one and then get back to work. Our job is not done.”
