Oscar Allen is officially a Brisbane Lion.

Oscar Allen is officially a Brisbane Lion.

The former West Coast Co-Captain joined the Club as a restricted free agent on Wednesday after the Eagles elected not to match Brisbane’s free agency offer.

Allen follows former Essendon ruckman Sam Draper as the second star to become a Lion via the 2025 Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period.

The 26-year-old key forward, who was the Eagles leading goal kicker and runner-up best and fairest in 2023, is set to boost the Lions attack.

Brisbane Lions List Manager, Dom Ambrogio said Allen’s arrival at Brighton Homes Arena was exciting for the Club.

“We are very pleased to welcome Oscar to the Brisbane Lions and look forward to seeing him get back to his best in 2026,” Ambrogio said.

“Oscar is a talented player who we see bolstering our forward line, and as a former captain he adds further leadership experience.

“To have secured Oscar and Sam Draper this trade period is a great result and we see both players really strengthening our list.”

Allen requested a trade to the Brisbane Lions after 105 games across eight seasons with the Eagles.

During that time, the 195-centimetre forward booted 151 goals, including a career-best 53 in the 2023 season.

Now the West Australian local, who was drafted from Whitford and West Perth, is excited for a fresh start in Queensland as a Lions player.

“I’m ecstatic about the opportunity to contribute to a really special group,” Allen said.

“My partner Lorna and I are incredibly excited to join the Brisbane Lions Football Club, and it will be an exciting adventure for us moving forward.

“We’ve already received an amazing amount of support from the Club, and we cannot wait to get to know the players and staff.”

The Club will advise of a media opportunity with Allen when available in the coming weeks.
