Matthew Macklin is among the first from the boxing world to arrive at the Cathedral.
The three-time middleweight title challenger came through the ranks alongside Ricky Hatton and trained with him at Billy Graham’s gym.
They also both fought on the same cards at the MEN Arena – now known as the AO Arena – in 2002 and 2004.
Former cruiserweight world champion Tony Bellew has also arrived.
Bellew paid tribute to Ricky Hatton when the news broke of his death last month, saying “heaven has gained an angel with boxing gloves”.
