Bucks and Knicks Discussed a Trade For Giannis Antetokounmpo

During the offseason, the Milwaukee Bucks and the New York Knicks reportedly engaged in preliminary trade discussions regarding Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. In August, the two-time MVP allegedly made it known that  New York was the only team he would want to play for outside of Milwaukee. But talks never gained serious traction; as the Bucks insisted they did not want to move Antetokounmpo unless he demanded a trade. Also, many felt the Knicks’ offer was not strong enough.

Napheesa Collier Nixes Meeting With WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert

As tensions between players and the league have grown, Napheesa Collier, star forward for the Minnesota Lynx and Vice President of the WNBA Players Association, canceled a planned meeting with WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert. According to reports, Collier was open to meeting with Engelbert but reportedly changed her mind after the Commissioner denied making controversial statements about players. At her exit press conference, Collier pulled no punches in her critique of Engelbert, saying that “the WNBA has the worst leadership.”

A’ja Wilson Continues To Dominate The WNBA Finals

Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson is proving why she is the league’s MVP and best player. On Wednesday, Wilson led the Aces to a 3-0 series lead over the Phoenix Mercury with a game-winning jumpshot, coming through in the clutch. Wilson scored a Finals career-high of 34 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, and had three blocks. She averaged 27.7 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in 3 Finals games. The Aces look to close out the Mercury in a sweep on Friday night to win their third championship in four years.

Ja Morant Suffers Ankle Injury Before Season Opener

Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant may be out of the starting lineup to begin the season. The Grizzlies announced that Morant sustained a left ankle sprain during practice on Sunday (October 5). He is officially listed as “week-to-week.”Over the past several years, Morant has missed more games than he’s played. He suited up for a combined 59 games the past two seasons, missing all but nine games during the 2023-24 campaign because of a 25-game suspension handed out by the NBA. Lamar Jackson To Miss More Time With Hamstring Injury

The Baltimore Ravens have gotten off to a rocky start to the season, and Lamar Jackson will miss more time as he recovers from a hamstring injury. Against the Houston Texans last Sunday, the Ravens lost 44-10 in Jackson’s absence. NFL insider Jay Glazer spoke about Jackson’s injury status for Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams at home and the possibility of his return. I was told there’s an outside shot for next week, so they don’t want to shut it down yet,” Glazer said. “But the bye is coming after that, obviously. If they decide to (hold) him out next week, then they get three weeks of rest for him, but they’re not saying he’s out yet for next week.”
