On Sunday morning (4am AEDT), the Super League season will culminate when the Wigan Warriors take on Hull KR.
Wigan are chasing a third-straight title while the Robins are in the midst of a 40-year premiership drought.
There are stars all over the field for both teams, but we’ve pinpointed the seven players to pay close attention to.

BEVAN FRENCH (Wigan)
The Wigan halfback burst onto the NRL scene as a fullback, way back in 2016 scoring 19 tries in just 13 games for the Eels in his rookie season.
Despite scoring 35 tries in 47 games for the Eels, French has some deficiencies in defence and left for the Super League in 2019 to join Wigan.
French has gone on to score a whopping 114 tries in 136 games for the Warriors from 2019 to 2025, winning back-to-back premierships in 2023 and 2024.
The 2023 Man of Steel winner is still just 29 and could make a handy acquisition for an NRL side when the talent pool levels out when the Bears and PNG join the competition.
Given he can cover every position in the backline, French is the one that got away for the NRL and he may want to finish his career proving he can match it with the best.
Hull KR coach Willie Peters knows his side will have to be ready for anything against French and Jai Field (see below).
“The issue there is if you put your time into one then the other one gets you, that’s the problem,” Peters said on SEN.
“They are both electric players. Bevan has probably been the standout when he has played. He has been injured.
“They are going to pup up, so you have got to keep turning up and keep moving because that is the only way you will minimize what they do.”

MIKEY LEWIS (Hull KR)
The Hull KR five-eighth and the 2024 Man of Steel winner was outstanding in the Robins’ semi-final win over St Helens, scoring a try and setting up two more.
Lewis, who is set to feature prominantly for England in the upcoming Ashes Tour, will need to be at his best if Hull KR are going to break their Super League premiership drought.
Lewis will be keen to atone for last year’s grand final loss as the Robins’ attack wasn’t able to score a try in the 9-2 loss, although Lewis’ performance was solid in defeat (146m, four tackle busts).
His coach Willie Peters, who could be heading to the NRL in the next year or two, has called on Lewis to channel his inner Reece Walsh for Sunday morning’s (AEDT) decider.
Peters has full faith in Lewis to break the game wide open, much like the Broncos fullback did against the Storm.
“You look at what Reece Walsh did last weekend,” Peters said.
“It would have been at some stage that he said in his mind that he wants to go out and own this Grand Final.
“I’m pretty confident that he would have mentally gone ‘I’m going to be a beast. I’m going to own this Grand Final’.
“I think that’s where Mikey needs to be. He needs to mentally tap into that.”
JAI FIELD (Wigan)
Jai Field began his NRL career as a halfback with the Dragons in 2017 and went on to play 11 games for the club as a back-up playmaker. over three seasons.
He then joined the Eels and scored three tries in six games for the club in 2020, before switching to the Super League with Wigan.
A one club player in the Super League, Field has gone on to score 76 tries in 111 games for the Warriors after finding his true position at fullback for the club.
Field is a devastating broken field runner and cuts defences to pieces with his speed and skill at the back.
Still, just 28, field has plenty left to offer in his career and would be an excellent signing for a club to add depth and strike in their outside backs, while his versatility means he can also cover the halves.
“Jai Field was in the top three for the Man of Steel, so with Wigan you have just got to play for 80 minutes and you can’t switch off,” Hull KR coach Willie Peters said.

JARED WAEREA-HARGREAVES (Hull KR)
It was a nervous week for JWH.
The retiring prop was initially rubbed out for three games for a hip drop. It appeared his career was over.
However, Hull KR successfully appealed the controversial charge, meaning Waerea-Hargreaves will have a chance at winning another premiership before his glittering rugby league career ends this weekend after 340 games (316 NRL, 24 Super League)
The veteran prop’s presence and leadership has had a massive impact on this playing group.
Given his experience in grand finals (three premierships), Hull KR fans will be hoping that experience can rub off on his teammates as the Robins chase their maiden Super League title.

KAIDE ELLIS (Wigan)
The Wigan back-rower began his career at the Panthers playing eight games for the club after debuting in the NRL in 2018.
Ellis moved to the Dragons in 2020 playing 18 games over two seasons, before leaving for the Super League.
The now 29-year-old has scored five tries in 109 games for Wigan from 2022 to 2025, winning two Grand Finals in 2023 and 2024.
Ellis has been a stalwart for Wigan at lock this season and controls the middle with his mixture of ball playing, hard running and brutal defence.
He may be getting to the back end of his career, but with two expansion teams coming in, Ellis could be a handy pick-up for an NRL side in the coming seasons if he wants to finish his career back home.
ADAM KEIRGHAN (Wigan)
The Wigan centre started his NRL career with the Warriors back in 2019, playing nine games for them over two seasons before being picked up by the Roosters.
Keighran had his best season in 2021 scoring four tries and kicking 35 goals in 15 games for the Tri-colours, but he fell out of favour in 2022 and left after two games to join Catalans in the Super League.
The now 28-year-old scored 13 tries and 74 goals in his one season at Catalans, before switching to Wigan in 2024.
Keirghan has scored 17 tries and 160 goals in two seasons for the Warriors, winning back-to-back premierships and is hurting a third straight this season.
Given his versatility and goal kicking Keighran would be a handy pick-up for the Bears if he wants to make a return to the NRL as they look to build their inaugural squad for 2027.
