Anyone who’s followed Robert Irwin over the years knows that his family is more important to him than anything. From his adventures at Australia Zoo to his current appearance as a cast member on this season of Dancing With the Stars, his family is always at the forefront of his life.
Of course, for Irwin, his beloved family goes beyond his his mom, Terri Irwin, and sister, Bindi Irwin and her husband and daughter Grace. His precious little Pug, Stella, is such an important and significant part of his life, and he loves sharing her fun, adorable personality with his Instagram followers. In fact, Stella even has her own Instagram page, which many fans have followed for years.
So many people adore her, which is why fans were heartbroken earlier today when Irwin shared a sad update on the current state of her health.
He started the post off with, “This is a tough one.”
Irwin continued:
“I wanted to give an unfortunate update on my sweet little pup, Stella. A mass was discovered that ended up being cancerous. We still don’t know the full extent of the cancer. I have faith she’ll be in the clear. She is such an important part of our little fam, so it’s been stressful to say the least being away from home and away from her while she goes through this. I know you guys love seeing her and I love sharing her with you so wanted to give an update… she is doing ok post-surgery so far, she’s my little bestie & one tough cookie. ❤️”
Well Wishes for Stella the Pug Are Pouring In
Irwin’s followers were quick to leave comments sending prayers and well wishes for a speedy recovery for little Stella. As his sister Bindi noted, “She’s such a strong and beautiful little soul. ❤️”
Irwin’s DWTS co-star, Danielle Fishel, voiced her concern, saying, “Robert, I’m praying for your sweet Stella to make a full recovery. ❤️❤️”
Other comments included, “Praying for her recovery! My dog also just underwent emergency surgery ❤️”
“We’re very sorry Robert. Stella we are sending you love and healing energy. ❤️”
Stella is such a light in this world, and exactly everyone is hoping and praying for her continued healing and a positive outcome. Get well soon, sweet baby girl.
