JR Motorsports has been linked to Daniel Suarez since early July when Trackhouse Racing announced his departure from the No. 99 Cup car after the 2025 NASCAR season. With Connor Zilisch expected to replace Suarez, the 33-year-old driver is looking for a ride, and JR Motorsports has addressed the rumors of possibly signing him.
According to Dale Earnhardt Jr., in a response to Lee Spencer, Suarez has been discussed as an option for JR Motorsports ahead of the 2026 NASCAR Xfinity Series season. Earnhardt Jr. said JR Motorsports usually has one to two cars in limbo, and the organization will watch how things play out for Suarez over the coming weeks and months.
The current driver of the No. 99 car won the Xfinity Series race in Mexico City with JR Motorsports, so it wouldn’t be the first time the two sides have been together. Suarez is looking for a ride in the Cup Series in 2026, but JR Motorsports could be a great fallback option if nothing works out during the NASCAR silly season cycle.
