It appears Toronto Maple Leafs winger Nick Robertson may be on the trade block once again.

TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reports that Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving recently talked to potentially interested teams as Robertson’s future with the team sits in question once again.

“The 24-year-old finds himself one more time in a very familiar spot with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and he’s hoping for a larger role, opportunity in the National Hockey League,” Dreger said on Insider Trading Tuesday. “He’s pushing 160 NHL games. I know that Toronto Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving has recently talked with clubs that may have some interest in Nick Robertson. Given the depth that the Maple Leafs have, it’s a tough spot for Robertson. So maybe it’s time to give him a fresh start somewhere else.”

Dreger added that any talks remain in their early stages, given the season is just underway. Robertson has dressed in all four games with the Leafs this season, posting one assist.

He’s spent the season to date on a line with Max Domi and Bobby McMann, though Toronto’s lines are expected to shift once Scott Laughton returns from his lower-body injury.

Signed at a cap hit of $1.825 million ahead of restricted free agency again next summer, Robertson requested a trade from the Maple Leafs during the 2024 off-season, but eventually re-signed with the club.

Selected 53rd overall in the 2019 draft, the Pasadena, Calif., native has appeared in 160 games for the Maple Leafs across parts of six seasons, scoring 32 goals with 57 points.
