Manchester United are keen to move on players deemed surplus to requirements ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Ruben Amorim has taken his Manchester United first-team squad to the United States for the Summer Series, which consists of three pre-season friendlies against Premier League opposition.

United will take on West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton in the US this summer before returning to Old Trafford for one more friendly match against Fiorentina.

Amorim has made major decisions ahead of pre-season, with five players told they can leave rather than take part in the US tour. The first pre-season match saw United draw 0-0 with Leeds in Stockholm, but they will be aiming for a better result on Sunday morning against the Hammers.

Marcus Rashford has joined Barcelona on loan, but Ineos have struggled thus far to sell players. Another player they are trying to offload is Antony, now attracting interest from Saudi Arabia following a loan approach from Real Betis.

The other players told to leave include Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia.

After a spell on loan at PSV Eindhoven last season, Malacia was unable to secure a permanent move to the Eredivisie club.

That created uncertainty about Malacia’s future at Old Trafford, especially when Amorim made it clear he didn’t want the Netherlands international to be part of pre-season preparations.

Now, claims suggest Malacia may have a route out of United.

According to Voetbal International, Malacia has a concrete offer from an unnamed Saudi Pro League side, worth around £7 million (£6m).

The report states that Malacia has received the offer and is in talks with the club over a move. If he approves the conditions, a bid will be made in due course.

An offer from Saudi Arabia would be more than welcome from a United perspective as it would guarantee extra funding for more transfers this summer.

It is also stressed that Malacia has enquiries from other clubs around Europe, although none of them have been named, with the details being very vague.

Ineos will hope it progresses quickly between Saudi Arabia and potential suitors.

Malacia stats last season

Malacia is back at United after PSV passed on the opportunity to make his loan move permanent.

Despite winning the Eredivisie with the Dutch club, Malacia made just 12 appearances during his loan spell.

Fabrizio Romano recently stated that PSV had decided against the £8.5m buy option to sign the former Feyenoord star, who was brought to Old Trafford by Erik ten Hag.

It remains to be seen what is next for Malacia.
