The US president is currently on his way to Scotland, where he will spend the weekend golfing at his two luxury resorts – one in Aberdeenshire, the other in Ayrshire.

It’s the first time he’s visited the country since 2023, and he’s often spoken of his fondness for it, given his mother was born there.

However, he might not receive a particularly warm welcome, with more than 1,500 extra police drafted in with protests expected.

This is largely a private trip but Trump is expected to meet UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, Scottish First Minister John Swinney and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen while he is there.

Air Force One will soon be touching down at Glasgow Prestwick airport. We’ll be bringing you updates if Trump speaks when he lands.
