Farmers on alert for deadly bird flu

The Federal Government has declared Australia is free of the bird flu strain that devastated several farms across the country.

Farmers have lost millions in clean-up fees, and are rolling out new bio-security measures to protect themselves from the next outbreak.

Industry leaders say it’s only a matter of time before the next strain of bird flu arrives and they fear it will be catastrophic.
