The New England Patriots are riding a wave of momentum, sitting at 4-2 and atop the AFC East after the Bills stumbled against the Falcons on Monday night.

They head into Week 7 in prime position to push their record to 5-2, taking on a floundering Tennessee Titans squad reeling from the midweek firing of Brian Callahan.

After three consecutive wins, New England is looking every bit like a legitimate playoff contender, while Tennessee limps in at 1-5. Drake Maye continues to show why he’s the league’s rising star, having torched the Saints just last Sunday.

The Titans’ offensive woes have been glaring all season—Callahan came in from Cincinnati as an offensive savant, and the team even spent the first overall pick on QB Cam Ward in 2025.

Yet flashes aside, Ward and the Titans rank dead last in DVOA, putting up a paltry 13.8 points per game. Against a Patriots team clicking on all cylinders, it’s shaping up to be a long day in Nashville.

Team news & squadsTennessee Titans team news

Rookie quarterback Cam Ward, the Titans’ top overall pick this year, has started all six games to open the season—the first rookie QB in franchise history to pull off that feat. In last week’s road loss to Las Vegas, he set season highs with 26 completions on 38 attempts, posting a 68.4% completion rate, showing flashes of poise despite the team’s struggles.

Defensively, Tennessee had some bright spots in Vegas. Linebacker Cody Barton notched his second interception of the season, while the front seven combined for eight tackles for loss, including two from Jeffery Simmons, who added a sack to keep his streak alive with at least one in each of the last three games.

Tennessee are heading into their matchup with the New England Patriots with a handful of significant injury concerns. Calvin Ridley remains hampered by a hamstring issue that limited his participation in the last game. On a brighter note, defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat is set to return from injured reserve this week. Other key names on the injury list include kicker Joey Slye, edge rusher Arden Key, and offensive lineman Blake Hance, all of whom could impact the Titans’ game plan.

New England Patriots team news

Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel returns to Nashville with plenty of history, having helmed the Titans from 2018 through 2023 before beginning his first season leading New England after an eight-year playing career in Foxborough.

The Patriots’ signal-caller, Drake Maye, is off to a stellar start in his second NFL season after being selected third overall in the 2024 draft out of North Carolina. Through six games in 2025, Maye has completed 73.2% of his passes (131-of-179) for 1,522 yards, 10 touchdowns, and just two interceptions, boasting a crisp 112.5 passer rating—a level of efficiency that makes him a major threat against a shaky Titans defense.

New England hit the practice fields with four players limited in Wednesday’s session, including some key offensive starters. Stefon Diggs was a partial participant as he continues to nurse a chest injury, which had him limited after a Sunday outing in New Orleans where he hauled in three passes for 28 yards and had a 52-yard catch wiped out by an offensive pass interference call. Marcus Moses, the 34-year-old right tackle who has been on the field for 98.4% of the team’s offensive snaps this season, was also limited due to a hip issue.

Meanwhile, Jahmyr Jennings and Jahleel Hawkins remained sidelined with ankle and hamstring injuries, respectively. Both had missed last week entirely and were again non-participants on Wednesday, forming part of a three-man group that stayed off the field. Stevon Diggs popped up as a new addition to the team’s injury report on Wednesday. He’s listed with a chest injury and was a limited participant as a result.

Titans vs Patriots Fantasy Football

Drake Maye (projected 19.9 fantasy points in Week 7) stayed red-hot on Sunday, slicing through the Saints defense with clinical precision. The second-year signal-caller completed 18 of 26 passes for 261 yards and three touchdowns, sprinkling in 28 yards on the ground for good measure. When the dust settled, he closed the week as the QB2 with 27.2 fantasy points, his fourth top-10 quarterback finish in the last five games. Simply put, Maye is balling out, and there’s no reason to think he’ll slow down anytime soon as long as the Patriots keep trusting his arm.

Maye was especially sharp on deep balls, going 7-for-11 on passes traveling 10-plus yards downfield, and that’s not even counting two long completions wiped away by questionable flags. He currently leads the entire NFL with a 67.8% completion rate on such throws, a stat that pairs perfectly with his Week 7 matchup against a reeling Titans secondary.

Meanwhile, Rhamondre Stevenson (projected 8.6 points) hit a brick wall last week, averaging just 1.4 yards per carry, a new season low. With Antonio Gibson sidelined for the rest of the season, Stevenson was expected to shoulder the load, but rookie TreVeyon Henderson looked like the more explosive option.

As for Cam Ward (projected 10.0 points), it was another long afternoon for the Titans’ rookie quarterback. Ward posted a career-best 68.4% completion rate (26 of 38) against the Raiders, but that efficiency didn’t translate to production — he averaged a modest 5.8 yards per attempt, tossing a lone touchdown while coughing up both a pick and a fumble. Through six weeks, Ward hasn’t cracked the top 20 in fantasy scoring once, ranking near the bottom of the league in points per attempt (0.238) — only Joe Flacco has been worse. Maybe the firing of Brian Callahan jolts this offense, but right now, Ward’s a fringe QB2 at best.

And while Tony Pollard (projected 8.0 points) remains one of the few bright spots in Tennessee’s sputtering offense, even he couldn’t escape the funk in Week 6. The veteran back mustered just 34 yards on 10 carries — both season lows — and finished with 6.7 fantasy points, snapping his three-game double-digit streak. Despite the rough outing, Pollard’s consistency and workload keep him in the RB2 mix. Still, with New England’s defense tightening up, he’ll need every ounce of that explosiveness to keep fantasy managers smiling in Week 7.

Titans vs Patriots Game Predictions

It’s hard to know just how much of that short-term “new coach spark” will actually show up for Tennessee this week. Mike Vrabel may not say it outright, but you can bet he’s itching to remind his former team what they let go. Still, the reality is the Titans have been stuck in neutral, and simply removing Brian Callahan from the equation isn’t going to flip their fortunes overnight.

In Week 7, general manager Mike Borgonzi will get a front-row seat to what a stable coaching setup can do for a young quarterback. Unfortunately for Tennessee, that lesson will come at their own expense. Drake Maye looks poised to stay hot, and his growing confidence should carry New England to a third straight win. Expect Maye to light up Nissan Stadium with another three-touchdown performance while the Titans limp away wondering when their own reset will finally click.
