With Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season less than two months away, there are at least 100 players eligible for either a fine or suspension.

According to ESPN, countless NFL players allegedly sold their allotted tickets to Super Bowl LIX for more than face value. That would violate an agreement between the NFL and the NFL Players Association. None of the players involved in this mess have been named so far.
Those who broke the league and NFLPA’s policy must pay a fine that’s 1.5 times their ticket’s face value. Additionally, they’ll lose their allotted tickets for the next two Super Bowls.
If players refuse to accept these penalties, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has the right to suspend them.

“Our initial investigation has determined that a number of NFL players and coaches, employed by several NFL Clubs, sold Super Bowl tickets for more than the ticket’s face value in violation of the policy,” NFL chief compliance officer Sabrina Perel said.
“This long-standing League Policy, which is specifically incorporated into the Collective Bargaining Agreement, prohibits League or Club employees, including players, from selling NFL game tickets acquired from their employer for more than the ticket’s face value or for an amount greater than the employee originally paid for the ticket, whichever is less.”

Perel also said there’ll be training before this season’s Super Bowl to ensure players don’t “profit personally from their NFL affiliation at the expense of our fans.”
We’ll see if anyone gets suspended for this ticket scandal.
